BzzAgent Covergirl Natureluxe Review

Covergirl natureluxe

I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in my first BzzAgent campaign a few weeks ago. BzzAgent is a social marketing website that uses real people to drive word of mouth campaigns for new products and businesses. When you join BzzAgent (which I highly recommend!), you’ll have the opportunity to apply for campaigns which may allow you to test products. The only thing they ask is that you try to the product and talk to people about it! You can talk to people you know, post on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc, join in discussions and activities on the BzzAgent website… just as long as you give your honest opinion of the product and identify yourself as being a tester for BzzAgent.

So, with that being said… I was chosen to participate in the Covergirl campaign to test the new Natureluxe foundation. I received my package in the mail very quickly, in a week or two from filling out the application. I was really pleased with what I received too… a full size Natureluxe foundation in the color I chose, full size Natureluxe lip color, several $2/1 coupons for the foundation, and my BzzKit with lots of information about the product and instructions for how to Bzz. This is my open, honest, review of the product…

First off, I didn’t expect to like this product. I swore off of liquid foundation years ago and have used mineral powders ever since. Liquid foundation feels to me like wearing a clay mask, it’s heavy, clogs my pores up, and just feels yucky in general. I also don’t wear lip color of any kind on a regular basis… generally I just use clear chap stick or balm because lip color tends to have a texture, either sticky or dry. So I went into this expecting to try the foundation for a few days and hate it like all the others. NOT! I absolutely love both of these products, and am probably a convert now. I’m serious, I’m not in any way saying that because it was given to me free, I really really like it. Here’s why…

The foundation actually does what it promises – it’s lightweight, I don’t even notice I have it on after a few minutes. When I first apply it I can feel it, but I always put an all over face color (blush) on lightly, and that seems to ‘set’ the foundation very well. Right now I can rub my hand across my face and not feel makeup, and my hand doesn’t have makeup on it. Also, I’ve been wearing it for a week now, and show no signs of breaking out because of clogged pores, which is a very common problem for me with liquid makeups. To be so lightweight I would expect to compromise on coverage, but it has great coverage. I actually feel more ‘finished’, and dare I say prettier since I started wearing it. Cheesy I know, but it’s true. So in short on the foundation… I will definitely buy this product from now on, and I would strongly suggest trying it if you haven’t!

Now, the lip color… awesome! It feels like a lip balm or light chap stick, and that feeling doesn’t wear off almost instantly like a lot of lip colors do. The color is very natural and beautiful, almost like a lip stain. It looks more like you just have a healthy natural color to your lips than a lipstick.

All in all, both products combined give a look that I would describe as dewy and fresh, but with beautiful coverage. I can’t say enough good things about both, and I hope you try them!

Walgreens Score!

I’ve been busy this week so I’m a little late, but I was pretty proud of my Walgreens trip on Monday so I thought I’d share anyway! All total I went about $10 over budget between Kroger, Walgreens, and Wal Mart, but I also bought a lot of flat iron steaks on sale and a ready to cook chicken that I had a coupon for… we’ve eaten good this week. 🙂

Here’s what I got at Walgreens:

  • 3 Betty Crocker Brownie Mixes
  • 3 Crayola Color Wonder travel packs (I’ve been looking for these for a couple of weeks!)
  • 2 Colgate 360 Clean Toothbrushes
  • 3 packs of Scotch Magic Tape
  • 3 cans Green Giant veggies
  • 1 Nasogel Nasal Gel Spray
  • 2 Cans of Chicken of the Sea Salmon
  • 2 bags Easter Peanut M&Ms
  • 1 pack Goody’s Ouchless barrettes

I had $10 in Register Rewards left from last week, and all total I spent $7.07 out of pocket. I got $7 back in Register Rewards… so I basically spent $.07 for all that! My savings came to $50.79, not including the RRs I left with. Plus I got some things we will really use. Yay! 🙂

PetSmart – Free cat litter, food, and treats!

I used my awesome PetSmart coupons last night that I got from registering my Pet Perks account online. I was really pleased with how the transaction turned out, she even had to adjust one of the coupons because the register originally showed me receiving $.53 back!

The coupons I used were –
Free Royal Canin Discovery Kit up to $3.99
$3/1 ExquisiCat Litter
$5 off any order over $5

I bought a 14lb bag off the litter for $5.99, the discovery kit, and had $2 of my $5 coupon remaining, so we found a $2 bag of snacks the dogs will love. After the really nice cashier adjusted my coupons to keep the register from freaking out my total came to just $.18!! Woot!

I still have one Free Royal Canin Discovery Kit coupon, the store we were at only had one. I’ll use it at the PetSmart beside the Target I go to next time.

Fun Saturday Mail!

I love getting the mail! I never know what kind of neat sample or freebie is gonna pop up when I least expect it, and usually after I’ve forgotten about it… kind of like today!

I took part in a Cooking Light promo a few months ago where you had to buy 2 items off a list of items at Wal Mart, and submit a form to receive an aluminum water bottle. Well it came today, and besides the water bottle it also contained a bunch of samples, coupons, and little recipe books from Emerald Nuts, Emergen-C, Florida’s Natural, and Kettle Chips. How cool!

In addition to that I also got my free Mother’s Day card from the Tiny Prints promo a couple of days ago, and a Parents magazine with several great coupons including a $5/25 Merona at Target coupon.

Yay, Freebies!

I was horribly dissapointed in the lack of mail two days in a row because of President’s Day… but today made up for it! Here’s what I got: My two Free Coffee Mate coupons from Free Flavor Friday (that was fast!), a B2G1 Free Yoplait coupon, P&G Brand Sampler box with Tampax, Always, and Head and Shoulders samples, plus a $1/1 Cheer coupon, Roger’s Coffee Company Organic Coffee sample (a big one too!), and a Maybelline Fit Me sample and coupon.

What a great mail day… 🙂

Monday Totals

I went to 6 stores today! I know, that sounds insane… it started out as 4 stores – Kroger, Wal Mart, Walgreens, and CVS – which is only one more than usual. I only go to CVS when I feel like it’s worth it because it’s about 20 minutes out of my normal route. But today I had $5 in ECBs expiring soon and wanted to take advantage of the Pyrex 3 in 1 deal (free laundry detergent!). I also had to check on a job, which took me near PetSmart and Target, where I was able to get free Electrosol, blue jeans, and Science Diet Dog Food!! There’s too much to break down, and I went a little over the $30 challenge, but I feel like I did pretty darn good. So I’m just going to post the picture and the totals. 🙂

Here’s the totals –

Total Shelf Cost = $152.98

Total Saved = $104.83

Total Out of Pocket = $48.15

Fantastic Wal Mart Freebies

I went to Wal Mart just to pick up water and milk… but what do I find? A clearance rack packed full of great stuff! I must have circled it for 10 minutes, going through my coupons to see what deals I could get. Here’s what I came away with…

Purina One Beyond Dog Food: Priced at $7.47 – 50% clearance – $2 printable coupon = $1.73!!

Glade Tough Odors Sense and Spray starter kit: $4.88 – 50% clearance – $3 Glade Set and Refresh Starter Kit Q = Free! (They did mark my $3Q down to $2.44, but still free!)

Fusion Pro Glide Razor Kit with travel size items in it: $5 – 50% clearance – $2 Fusion Pro Glide Razor Q = $.50!! And I was excited a couple of weeks ago to get one of these for $1. 🙂

Febreze Fabric Refresher To Go: $1.50 – 50% clearance – $1 Febreze Fabric Refresher Q (Organize In Style booklet) = $.25 money maker! I don’t know why they didn’t mark this Q down, but I wasn’t going to argue.

I also grabbed two Aquafresh Extreme Clean travel size toothpastes for a $.06 money maker using the $1/1 printable Q I posted about the other day.

Keep your eyes open in Wal Mart people, some awesome clearance stuff is around right now. My rack was in the back by the food section in the center of the aisle. It had a bunch of other stuff too… Campbell’s Cream of soups, Hot Hands hand warmers, Axe body spray, Dayquil, trial size Mucinex, and a bunch more.
